The ‘Friendly Oasis’ of Edgerton is located in the rolling hills in the eastern central area of the Province of Alberta. Our community is 2 ½ hours south east of Edmonton; the Border City of Lloydminster lies just 45 minutes north and the Town of Wainwright with CFB Wainwright & WATC is located just 25 minutes west of the Village. Edgerton is located on a Main line of the Canadian National Railway with side track available.
Just 10 minutes west of Edgerton you will find recreation and fishing opportunities at Arm Lake, Clear Lake and Schuster Lake.

Highways:
Heading 10 kms north of Edgerton, Sec Hwy 894 connects to Hwy 14.
Heading southwest of Edgerton on Sec Hwy 610 also connects to Hwy 14.
Heading east of Edgerton on Sec Hwy 610 connects to Hwy 17.
Heading east of Edgerton on Sec Hwy 610, then south on Sec Hwy 897 connects to Hwy 13.
Heading southwest of Edgerton on Sec 610, then south on the Cadogan Road (paved road) connects to Hwy 13.
Railways:
A Canadian National Railway Main line runs through Edgerton. Passenger services are not available Edgerton, but are provided in Wainwright.
Economy:
The economic base of the Edgerton area is sound and diverse. Major industries are:
- Agriculture – The climate and variety of soil types allow for a wide variety of agricultural products including cattle, pork, poultry, bison, elk, wheat, barley, canola, oats and peas.
- Oil & Gas Production and Distribution – The Edgerton area has significant oil and gas deposits throughout the district. Production of both oil and gas are extensive
- Department of National Defense – Western Area Training Centre (WATC), CFB Wainwright, and Canadian Manouvre Training Centre (CMTC) are all based at Wainwright. They have undergone major upgrades and expansion of their facilities with more upgrades and expansion in progress.
