1. The following items will now be accepted for recycling at the waster transfer site:
- Tin cans - please rinse and remove labels.
- Clear glass - please remove lids and rinse.
- All household soft plastics - please rinse as neccessary. Plastics include all plastic jugs and containers, grocery and other plastic bags.
2. As announced in the April information bulletin, the following items can be recycled:
- Televisions, computer monitors, personal desk top CPU (computer towers), lap top and notebook computers. Personal desktop printers and combinations, microwave ovens, fluorescent light tubes including minature bulbs, tires, alkaline batteries (small dry batteries).
3. Summer (starting May 15, 2010) operating hours:
- Tuesdays and Thursdays 6:00 - 8:30 PM
- Saturdays 10 AM - 2 PM
4. This site is supervised when it is open and you are requested to cooperate with the supervisor by following their instructions carefully.
5. Items not accepted: The following items CANNOT be delivered to the Edgerton Waste transfer/recycling site:
- fence wire of any type
- concrete
- shingles, and any other asphalt roofing material.
6. Your cooperation with the recycling program is appreciated! Most of the items being recylced do not decompose over time but remain in the landfills, recycling alleviates this environmental problem.
7. New solid waste contractor: The Village of Edgerton will be served by a new solid waste contractor beginning July 2, 2009. Residential pick up will continue to be Thursday morning. SS & M is the company who will be performing residential collection and bin dumping. The Town of Wainwright, Villages of Chauvin, Edgerton, and Irma will all be served under this contract.
8. Village of Edgerton residents are reminded any garbage for pick up must be in regular garbage bags. Non bagged garbage will not be picked up.
